“In the journey to artistry, your vehicle is joy, time and dedication.”
Anthony Dyer is the owner and head instructor of the Artist Violin Studio. He performs as a tenured first violinist in Eugene Symphony and Portland Chamber Orchestras. Also a former member of the Oregon Ballet Theater and Oregon Mozart Players , he continues to be an active freelancer in the state of Oregon. Since 2003, he has been on faculty as a violin and viola instructor at the Community Music Center in southeast Portland.
Mr. Dyer began teaching the violin over 20 years ago. His desire is to distill and pass on the inspired knowledge he has acquired from the many amazing pedagogues that graced his life. His best teachers imparted a sense of duty towards their students, as if to say: “since you are going to do this, you might as well do it right”. He believes there is a ‘zen’ of self discovery to be found in playing an instrument well and that this is the journey to artistry. |
